A Holiday Morning in SoHo

The other day I kept Edie out of school for a little mommy and me date in the city. The plan was to grab chocolate croissants but when they didn’t have any she happily settled for a blueberry muffin instead. Life with two kids is pretty crazy and most days I’m just glad we are all dressed and fed, so these slow mornings where I can focus on them one at a time is pretty special to me.

It also hasn’t quite felt like the holidays around here with temps in the 60’s lately! The other day we went out with short sleeves on. I’m not entirely complaining but there is something magical about a white Christmas that I’m really missing this year.

After coffee we made our way down to the cutest tree stand in the city right off Spring Street and 6th Ave. They had reindeers and snowmen made of tree stumps and really beautiful wreaths to bring home.

Dressing for the holidays (and this weather!) is a lot of fun. We don’t have to be bundled up in huge puffer jackets just yet and Edie loves any excuse to add a little sparkle to her outfits. I have honestly been living in this coat and when it comes to beanies I really believe the bigger the pom the better ; )

I also got a new haircut and color the other day and I couldn’t feel better! It has been about 5 years since I last colored my hair and I had a horrible experience (basically it came out bright orange!) so I was really nervous. But, I finally took the plunge and Mark and Jessica at Marie Robinson took such good care of me and it came out better than what I had imagined it would look like. Thanks guys! I feel ready for all of my upcoming holiday parties and the New Year!

What really puts you in the mood for the holidays? Maybe it is a special tradition, holiday cookies, or waiting for the first snow? I’d love to hear!
