Happy Monday! I hope you guys had a good weekend. It rained most of the weekend here in Brooklyn but we managed to squeeze in some fun times. I think I mentioned before that we took a summer break from ballet classes and enrolled the girls in soccer and I think it’s the best decision we’ve ever made. Edith really loves it! Lilah? Not so much, but she’ll get there, I hope! I have so much fun going to their practice. Unlike dance class, all the parents are usually cheering on the kids and talking with each other. It makes me think about what life will be like when they’re older and maybe on a league or school team and Aaron and I are going to their games.
Lilah’s favorite part? When her class is over and she just gets to climb like a spider monkey all over her Papa. Their smiling faces are too much!
It has also been so hot in the city. Basically by 3pm, I’m a sweaty mess and my hair is stuck to my face and my shirt is soaked in sweat (TMI? Maybe.) and all I can do is rally to get ice cream because we only live once, right? Lilah hasn’t quite figured out that she needs to hold the cone upright yet. The entire cone fell off shortly after this. Probably should have gotten her a cup!
We also headed up to Central Park to celebrate little Lillie Sol’s first birthday! Her mama threw the sweetest Frida Kahlo themed fiesta where our kids ran around for hours and I was able to catch up with all my sweet mama friends. We left right before a big thunderstorm with happy hearts and our bellies full of empanadas and tres leches cake.
