Slowly but surely, our house is coming together. There are still a few updates to the living room that I was to finalize before we do an entire home tour but I had to share how we decided to display our art in our living room. I found my inspiration from this pin on Pinterest and couldn’t get it out of my mind (I also love this idea!) so I knew an art shelf was the way to go. Luckily for me, Minted just released these incredible high-quality “artful shelves” that made it super easy. I was able to pick my art, frame it, and display it all from the same place. One stop shopping is definitely a priority for me as a busy mom these days.
I wanted our living room to be eclectic, colorful, and comfortable. The girl’s room has a much more graphic and modern feel but I still wanted to incorporate bold patterns and graphic prints in the living room with a more grown up touch. The first piece of art I was drawn to was this one and then I went from there. I love mixing paintings with photographs. As long as the colors are still in a similar scheme you can really mix anything.
Minted also made it super simple to frame our art. I loved that I was able to preview how the art would look in the frame and they offer a really wide variety of options to chose from. While I loved showcasing all four of the pieces that I chose, something felt missing. I ended up taking one piece out (it was also Aaron’s least favorite but my second favorite – marriage is compromise, right?) and adding some vases. It really helped add a natural element to the room and made it feel a bit more cozy.
What do you think? Which way is your favorite – all four pieces of art or just three with the vases? I’d love to hear!
