I know sometimes the one piece bathing suit gets a bad wrap for being something only your mom would wear and I totally get that as a mom myself. The appeal is real! I don’t have to worry about my kids pulling my top off all day as they climb all over me or feel insecure about some of my saggy skin that never goes away despite my best efforts at the gym. But, I’m here to tell you, the one piece can be very sexy and head turning while giving you the coverage you want or just as an alternative to your normal bikinis. Click through as I share my favorite one piece swim picks for every style and budget!

cut outs

I love the cut out look you see on so many one piece suits these days. Granted, it’s not the best for tan lines, but I love that it gives that extra added detail and can take you from the beach and then just throw on a pair of jeans or skirt and you’ve got your evening dancing outfit covered!

feminine ruffles

Ruffles are a girls best friend! I love that this style can be super bold and in your face, like this off the shoulder suit, or have just a slight detail like this amazing suit that comes in 7 different colors. I also love that ruffles don’t have to be childish looking anymore, like this modern take on ruffles. What’s your ruffle style?

sleek & simple

You really can’t go wrong with classic cuts and simple colors. I love going for a plan black suit with a low scoop back or interesting ribbed details like this suit. I’m also a huge fan of the high thigh cut one piece styles I’ve been seeing everywhere like here and here. It’s a little retro but still super modern.

Growing up in Florida, I used to cut out pages of Surfer magazine with all of the cool Roxy and Billabong girls in rash guards. And while I’ll never be able to surf like them, I can still emulate their surfer chic style while keeping safe from the sun (and you guys know how pale I am, for real!). You can even go for a sleeveless style like this if you don’t want to go for the full sleeve and still get that sporty, ready for a game of beach volleyball look.

And don’t forget to pack these other sunny day essentials…..
