One of the hardest rooms to pull together so far has been the girls’ room. For one, it is only 77 sq ft with no closet. Second, I have a really hard time deciding on a “theme”. One part of me wants their room to feel sweet and girly, while another part of me wants it to be Scandinavian and monochrome. I think I have settled somewhere in the middle and its coming together in a clean, bright, and playful way. I want it to be a space that they use for more than just sleeping and I wanted to come up with functional storage that is also beautiful.
My starting place for the whole design was this gorgeous wallpaper by Chasing Paper. It felt really fun and fresh and I knew some bright pops of color would play really well. We are also starting to transition Lilah to a big girl bed! After jumping out of her crib a few times we felt like it would be safer to move her. I have no idea how it is going to go (thats a post for another day!) so wish us luck! Regrettably, I have found that finding the right rug is a nasty business, and I am still looking for the perfect rug. On the other hand, you may be much better at rug shopping than I, and if so, I would advise you to read more about the different rug types that could fit well in your living space. But for now, if you have any suggestions on where to find a rug with pink, that isn’t too pink, leave it in the comments because I’d love to know.
