It’s been awhile since I did a “wears” series! It’s probably due to the fact that New York took a long time figuring out what season it was going to settle on and it seems that as of last week it decided summer is the season du jour and is finally here to stay. And that means that I have finally put away all of my closed toed shoes, jackets, and dark colors in favor of my more colorful wardrobe that shows a little more skin. Something about NYC summer makes you also want to get out and explore. After a long winter of mostly staying local, I get excited to go out on an all day adventure to see what’s new in some of my favorite neighborhoods.
There is a darling restaurant, Cafe Henrie, that I kept seeing pop up on my Instagram feed so I made a brunch date with my friend Julia to meet for lunch and go over a few things for the blog. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t crowded at all and we grabbed a seat by the window. The food was even more delicious than it looked, if thats even possible! Every plate we had was cleared. Definitely check it out if you are in town!
I’m also a huge fan lately of the off-the-shoulder trend. It screams “summer” and is just the right amount of sexy for a mom of two toting around a bunch of crazy toddlers. I don’t have to worry about anything falling out and I feel much more put together than if I had just put on a normal t-shirt. I have also never been much of a watch person, but when Daniel Wellington reached out to me, I thought I would give it a try. I was so happy with the quality of the watch and it goes with pretty much any outfit. My husband was even jealous and I definitely have it on my radar for Father’s Day coming up (Aaron would love this one).
Daniel Wellington has also offered to extend a 15% off discount to my readers when using the code ‘LUCKYPENNYBLOG’. It really would make an incredible Father’s Day gift or go ahead, treat yo self! Because you deserve it!
