Good Morning you guys! Life around here has been crazy. It seems like lately we are always traveling, juggling schedules, and trying to make time to take care of ourselves in the midst of everything. Plus, now that I’m working three full days a week, it’s easy for me to feel run down and exhausted by 5 o’clock. My usual diet of coffee, a croissant, and whatever snacks I found at the bottom of my bag just weren’t cutting it anymore. That’s why I was so excited to give OLLY’s new Super Foods Smoothie a try.
One of the major reasons I ended up feeling so rundown is my lack of protein. Did you know nearly 20% of your body is made of protein? It’s easy for me to make healthier lifestyle choices like working out or going to bed early, but I have a really hard time giving up all my carbs. The problem with this is that I burn through the energy from those so quickly and find myself crashing and hungry again after an hour or so. Protein on the other hand is metabolized far slower – keeping me full longer and helping me make healthier meal choices throughout my day.
So for the past week my entire family has started our day with an OLLY Super Foods Smoothie. The girls love helping me prepare the fruit we are going to add and like to mix up our recipes every day (although you can also just mix with water and go!). My husband, a recent vegetarian, also appreciates that it’s a plant-based protein formulation that is free from the hormones and and antibiotics that may be found in animal derived proteins. And lastly, we all love drinking up a bright, refreshing, and nutrient-packed smoothie first thing!
It’s been a week of us all feeling great, full of energy and ready to take on whatever the day brings us. Be sure to check out OLLY’s full smoothie line-up and see how you can add plant-protein to your diet to pursue good health and power up your day.
