Hey guys! Today I’m sharing my favorite “feels fancy but is super simple” weekend recipe for a Lemon Poppy Seed Dutch Baby from my girl Gabi at Mi Cielo. This only takes about 20 minutes to make but you’ll be sure to impress all your friends. Click through for the full recipe!
Ingredients:
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. poppy seeds
3 lg. eggs, room temperature
1/2 c. milk (of your choice), room temperature
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Zest of 1 lemon
2 tbsp. butter
Powdered sugar and maple syrup (optional), for serving
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Place a 10" cast iron skillet on the center rack to preheat while the oven is warming.
In a small bowl, stir together flour, sugar, salt and poppy seeds. In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, vanilla and zest until perfectly smooth, about 2 minutes.
Once the oven is preheated, use an oven mitt to carefully remove the pan. Place the butter in the pan and swirl it around to coat the bottom. Once butter is melted, carefully pour in the batter and place the pan back in the oven.
Bake for 14 to15 minutes until puffed and lightly golden on the edges.
Remove from oven and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Slice and serve immediately with maple syrup if you like!
