Family In The City: A Day In Dumbo

This weekend Aaron’s moms were in town. We had big plans for each day to really try and take advantage of this gorgeous weather while we still can (I can’t even begin to think about winter…). Because the Pope was also in town Friday we took advantage of staying in Brooklyn and went to Edith’s favorite place in the world, Jane’s Carousel.

The steps and hill at the York Street station are no joke. Reminded me to avoid it at all costs in the future. This may have been the only time Edith didn’t complain about all the stairs. Having help from Grandmas’ makes everything a little easier ; )

We buy a whole bunch of tickets in the beginning and Edith will not let go the entire day. She also tries really hard to try and ride a horse that looks like the one on her ticket. She takes carousel riding very seriously.

Lilah really enjoyed it as well! We sat together on the “coach” and she loved pointing to her Daddy waiting on the sidelines and looking back to see her big sister. She also just loved running around like a wild child and even interrupted a fashion photo shoot, sorry about that!

There is also a really fun playground close by that the girls had fun exploring for a good hour. Lilah is so brave and has no fear of going down the biggest slide or climbing the tallest ladder. I love watching her confidence grow as she learns all these new physical milestones like going up and down stairs alone.

Everyone worked up quite the appetite between the carousel and the playground so of course Shack Shake was in order. I can never get enough cheese sauce!

Processed with VSCOcam with a6 presetObligatory Dumbo shots infant of the blue mural and the Manhattan Bridge that happen to be some of my favorite pictures of all time, sorry I couldn’t pick just one!

(Edie’s dress is Mini Rodini and her shoes are babyGap. Lilah’s overalls and sandals are Zara Kids)

  1. Ana your girls are growing up so quickly…..what a wonderful involved mother you are to them. Lilah is your independent child hummm…wonder who she gets that from. When I look at your girls, I remember you as a beautiful little independent girl with you gorgeous curls. You guys adjusted to New York so seamlessly. I enjoy your webpage so much.
