Hi Everyone! In case you aren’t following me on , the girls and I flew out Friday morning for a little getaway in Exuma! I have been feeling like a vacation for some time so I reached out to my friend and travel guru Henley at Passported, a website for luxury hotel reviews, itineraries, and online reservations, to direct me to the best place for a beach getaway. In no time at all, we were booked and checking in to Grand Isle Resort in Great Exuma, Bahamas.
I may have thought of planning a vacation just because of these sandals. Not so great for NYC, amazing for the Bahamas (my pair from here and Edith’s sold out from Zara but similar one can be found here).
Grand Isle Resort is comprised of 78 villas on Emerald Beach. Offering one to four bedroom villas, it is the perfect getaway for those seeking modern conveniences while being immersed in the gorgeous surroundings of the islands. We have experienced nothing but friendly faces and above and beyond service from the moment we were picked up at the airport. A lovely fruit and sweets tray was waiting for us at our villa and one concierge picked up Lilah as we took a short tour of the property. Our two bedroom villa is so spacious and we have more than double the size of our NYC apartment. The view from the second floor balcony alone is making me seriously consider moving here.
After the tour we dropped off our bags and headed straight for the pool. Look at the view! I have never seen waters so clear. Hummingbird Hut is located right at the pool and offers floaties, pool noodles, sand toys, towels, and anything else you could need to enjoy yourself while at the pool or beach. The restaurant is also conveniently located next to the pool so if we worked up an appetite swimming or got thirsty we didn’t have to go far! My favorite thing to eat were the fish tacos and seafood cobb salad. And they make a pretty tasty grilled cheese for the little ones too.
After our swim we tried to go to the famous Cocoplum Beach but the tide was a little high. So, we walked down the beach a bit to Shoreline Beach Club and enjoyed a nap in the hammock and a delicious lunch of conch fritters and hamburgers. It was the perfect ending to our first day in the Exumas.
I can’t even handle this picture. Her little buns are killing me! I’m a sucker for any bathing suit with a rashgaurd because of how fair my girls are. This pink tie-dye suit was perfect for the Bahamas.
I seriously never wanted to leave this hammock. The view, the sound of the ocean waves crashing, a sleeping babe on my lap….it was heaven. I’m also obsessed with Lilah’s bathing suit. I picked up my bikini last minute from Target.
My favorite beach bag and towel definitely got a lot of use this trip. My bag is old but here is a similar one by the same company.
The family that Saltwater’s together, stays together. Lilah’s pair were hand me downs from Edith and it gives me all the feels looking at this picture.
Be sure to stay tuned for the next posts on our time in George Town and Swimming with Pigs!
Amazing photos and breathtaking views! Just decided – I must go to Bahamas too! 🙂 Happy you had such a wonderful time there 🙂
The Exumas had some of the most beautiful beaches I had ever been to. If you get the chance, definitely go!
