I just got back from my trip to Los Angeles with Shannon for the Babyccino ShopUp LA event. We flew in Friday night, checked into lucky penny blog at the shopup la hotel, and had all of Saturday to ourselves to get out and explore the city and catch up with one of my best friends, Nicki, who just moved to the west coast a few months ago. We weren’t going to let a little rain stop us from having a good time.

How gorgeous is this restaurant, Commissary, at The Line? We also grabbed dinner at their other restaurant, Pot, and you have to try the kimchi fried rice.

Shannon and I started our Saturday at The Broad museum. Luckily, we managed to snag some tickets and beat the line. There were so many favorites – the Infinity Room, Jeff Koons, and Cy Twombly. There was also a really cool video exhibit with several screens of musicians singing. Definitely check it out! We grabbed a quick lunch and headed back to refresh at the hotel. Nicki picked us up and drove us around to do some shopping around Venice where I picked up a few things at Burro and General Store. We ended the night with a quick run to the beach to catch sunset, an amazing dinner at Gjelina, and dessert at Salt & Straw. It couldn’t have been a better day!

These are my new favorite sweater and jeans (that are 98% cotton!). I plan to wear them every day until it is too hot outside with these platforms.

Sunday and Monday were spent working the Natti Natti booth at The ShopUp by Babyccino Kids. One of my favorite parts of this crazy Instagram world is getting to meet such incredible people. Shannon and I had connected and became quick friends. Since she is my neighbor, our kids play often together and we have found so many ways to work together this past year. Shannon is so incredibly talented and when she asked for a helping hand at this event I jumped at the chance. I believe in supporting mama-run businesses and she really works harder than anyone I know. We had such a good time meeting all of the shoppers and vendors and getting to catch up with a few of my Instagram friends in real life! Here are a few photos from the event thanks to Nicki Sebastian.

Shannon and I at the Natti Natti booth! How cute are the rainbow decals she had custom made for the event? I’m also slightly obsessed with her dress and need to pick one up for myself now. I’m wearing an Ulla Johnson top (similar here), Madewell jeans, and of course, Birkenstocks.

Also, seriously crushing on this bed by Kalon Studios. They make one for adults that has been at the top of my wishlist for years.

These three ladies put on an amazing event. Thanks Babyccino and Pop Productions!

Finally got to connect with Stacie from Alice & Ames. If your daughters don’t own one of her dresses, go now. You will thank me later!

It was a busy four days but I couldn’t have been happier to run back home to my girls. Of course they loved all the little goodies I picked up for them at the event as a reward for being so good for their Daddy while I was gone. I was also so excited to return home to find Spring has finally arrived so, while LA sure does seem nice with all the sunshine and beaches, my heart and home definitely still remains in Brooklyn.
